Is comprehensive cover compulsory?
No. Every hire includes insurance in the price. Comprehensive cover is an optional upgrade that extends protection to covered loss and damage to the hired vehicle, with no excess.
What insurance is included in the hire price?
Every hire includes third-party liability insurance. If you are involved in an accident that was not your fault, the included insurance also provides for injury suffered by the renter and damage to the hired vehicle.
What is the difference between third-party liability and comprehensive cover?
Third-party liability covers damage to others. If the renter is not at fault, it may also cover injury to the renter and damage to the hired vehicle. Comprehensive cover keeps that basis and adds protection for covered loss and damage to the hired vehicle even when the renter is at fault, with no excess.
What happens if the accident is my fault?
With the included insurance, damage to the hired vehicle is not covered when the renter is at fault. To cover loss and damage to the hired vehicle in that situation, we recommend comprehensive cover with no excess.
Is theft of the vehicle covered?
No. Theft is not covered by either the included insurance or comprehensive cover with no excess. If the vehicle is stolen, the customer must pay Sancho Bikes its current market value.
Can I add it when I collect the vehicle?
Yes, provided it is available for the vehicle you hire. We recommend confirming it when you book.
Is it recommended for a premium bike worth over EUR 4,000?
Yes. Comprehensive cover with no excess is especially recommended for cyclists hiring high-value premium bikes who want to ride around Cala Bona and Mallorca without worrying about covered damage to the bike.
