🚴🌍 World Bicycle Day:

Every 3rd of June, World Bicycle Day 🚲 is celebrated, a date that recognises the importance of one of the simplest, most sustainable 🌱 and accessible means of transport in the world 🌎. But for us, this celebration goes far beyond a simple day marked on the calendar 🗓️.

At Sancho Bikes, we have been living the bicycle every day since 1972 🛠️. For more than five decades, we have seen how thousands of people have discovered Mallorca on two wheels 🏝️🚴‍♂️, how entire families have shared unforgettable moments 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, and how cycling has become a way of life for people of all ages ❤️.

The bicycle does not understand languages 🗣️, ages or borders 🗺️. It brings people together 🤝, creates memories 📸 and allows us to discover places at a pace that no other means of transport can offer ⛰️✨.

Today we want to take this day to look back 🔙, remember our origins and thank all the cyclists 🙌 who have been part of this adventure that began over half a century ago in Cala Millor 🌅🎊.

🚴❤️🌍Don't Ride Alone

For some, a bicycle

is sport.

For others, freedom.

For others, happiness.

But we all remember

that feeling of pedalling.

🚴✨

🌳 It all started under a fig tree

Our story began in a humble way, as many of the best stories do. There were no online bookings, no electric bicycles, no GPS. There were a few bicycles, a lot of hard work, and a huge dream.

Under a fig tree, in the heart of Cala Millor, what we now know as Sancho Bikes was born. What started as a small family bicycle rental business gradually grew thanks to constant effort, a passion for cycling, and the trust of thousands of visitors who chose to discover Mallorca on two wheels.

Since then, we have seen cycling and Mallorca change. We have moved from the touring bikes of the seventies to modern carbon road bikes, e-bikes capable of conquering any mountain pass, and adapted handbikes that allow people to continue enjoying cycling regardless of the circumstances.

However, there is one thing that has never changed: the feeling of freedom experienced when starting a route and the smile that appears at the end of a great day of cycling.

Every rented bike, every repair made in our workshop, and every route shared with our customers is part of a much larger story. A story built kilometre by kilometre over more than fifty years.

❤️ Much more than a bike

For some people, the bike is sport. For others, it is a means of transport, a tool to stay active, or simply a perfect excuse to enjoy nature.

But many times, a bike means something deeper. It means independence. It means overcoming challenges. It means feeling the wind on your face again and remembering that there are still many roads to travel.

Mallorca is one of the most important cycling destinations in Europe, and each season we have the privilege of accompanying thousands of visitors on their adventures around the island. From the peaceful coastal routes of Cala Millor and Cala Bona to the great challenges of the Serra de Tramuntana, each ride offers a unique experience.

We have shared routes with professional cyclists, with families riding together for the first time, with travellers who came to fulfil a dream, and with people who found in cycling a new form of freedom.

That is why today we want to say thank you.

Thank you to every customer who has trusted us. Thank you to every friend who has shared a route. Thank you to every cyclist who has been part of the Sancho Bikes family.

After more than 50 years, we still have the same enthusiasm as on the first day: helping people discover Mallorca on two wheels.

🚴 Happy World Bicycle Day.

Sancho Bikes · More than bikes. Ride Mallorca.
